TWO Cambodian men have been arrested and charged with raping an Australian woman who was passed out on the beach, telling police they “couldn’t control their feelings”.

the Waikiki ШУУД ҮЗЭХ Beach Club in

Sihanoukville allegedly took the 22-year-old Australian tourist back to the room in which they live at the popular resort, reports The Cambodian Daily.
Resort waiters Sarith Sethy, 22, and Kuoy Pov, 17, have been charged with the crime.
It’s alleged the victim had fallen asleep on O’Chheuteal Beach after partying at the nearby resort when the two men came across her body and carried her to their room.
Sarath Vichea, chief of police for the Preah Sihanouk province, said the two men had confessed to the crime.
“At about 11pm, while the victim was feeling drunk, the suspects brought her [to their room] and raped her one by one,” he said.

“They were able to rape her in the club because they were waiters and live at the club.
“They raped her because they couldn’t control their feelings when they saw her sleeping alone on the beach.”
The incident occurred on Monday night and the men were arrested on Wednesday after the victim reported the crime to police.
A spokesman for the Australian Embassy in Cambodia has made a statement saying they are aware of the crime and are able to offer any necessary support.
“We are aware of reports of the alleged rape of an Australian woman in Sihanoukville earlier this week and stand ready to provide consular assistance,” the spokesman said.
Cambodia is a popular party destination for Australian travellers and the government asserts those travelling to the country should exercise the normal amount of caution.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and trade website said “travellers planning to attend parties, including organised dance parties on islands off the coast of Cambodia, should take appropriate precautions for personal safety.”
